Geekway to the West Prime 2026Geekway to the West
Geekway to the West is a four-day, play-focused tabletop convention held each spring near St. Louis, Missouri. Designed around open gaming, the convention emphasizes playing over programming, with thousands of attendees gathering to explore a massive shared game library, bring their own collections, and participate in community-driven events.
The centerpiece of Geekway is its Play and Win program, where attendees can check out featured games, play them, and earn entries to win copies to take home. In addition to open gaming, the convention includes a curated library of more than 2,000 games, publisher demos, a vendor hall, a flea market, and interactive events like Battling Tops and Prototype Row.
Geekway to the West started in 2005 in board game designer Jay Little’s basement. The first year, about fifteen people showed up to play games for a long weekend. A few short years later, the annual tradition had grown into hundreds of people gathering in a convention center to play their favorite games.
In 2018, Geekway expanded beyond its flagship spring convention, introducing Geekway Mini (a smaller three-day winter event) and Geekway Micro (a series of one-day events held throughout the year), establishing a multi-event structure that continues today.
