Gen Con

Gen Con is the largest and longest-running tabletop gaming convention in the United States. It began in Lake Geneva in 1968 and evolved from a wargaming-rooted Midwestern gathering into the central annual showcase for tabletop gaming, eventually settling in Indianapolis.

The convention now covers the full width of hobby gaming: board games, card games, roleplaying games, seminars, cosplay, and a huge exhibitor presence. Its official site still foregrounds that long arc from Gary Gygax's Lake Geneva roots to the modern Indianapolis megaconvention.
