Gen Con South

Gen Con South was a short-run regional Gen Con held in Florida from the late 1970s into the early 1980s. It was part of an early push to extend the Gen Con name beyond Wisconsin and give southern players a convention with a similar tabletop focus closer to home.

Although it never became a long-term second anchor for the brand, the series shows how quickly Gen Con's organizers were thinking beyond a single annual event. It belongs to the early expansion era of tabletop convention history.
